Why 3D?

We live in 3d. Virtually any idea, story, process or relationship can lend itself to the 3d medium.

Concepts or processes difficult or impossible to convey through words may be brought to life using 3d software. For example, using Quicktime VR, objects and products may be displayed in full 360 degree view—even products that do not yet exist.

3d Animation can make complex processes and concepts concise and understandable. For example, the manufacture of computer chips—often a very complex multistep process—can be animated in 3d and shown one step at a time. This same approach can also be applied to the re-creation of accidents or other events for courtroom animation. For advertising, 3d can save thousands by taking existing 3d models(or create new ones from scratch) texture them light them and render them so that they are indistinguishable from photography.

In essence, 3d digital media provides a sort of digital backlot or photography studio that is much more flexible and cost effective than traditional media.
