Session
1
Besides
introductions and course overview we will look at mapping examples
from a variety of sources including film, television, print,
this school and other sources. We will discuss the methods used
in each case.
We
will also cover a set of techniques in Photoshop that will help
your mapping projects. We will use these all semester long.
There will be a class exercise in mapping that introduces most
of these techniques.

HomeworkPart
I:
Gather
all of your best modeling work form your other 3d classes. We
will decide in the next class which will work with the techniques
covered in class.
Homework
Part II:
Begin
building a library of real world photos to use as reference
for later projects. You should look wherever you can and take
photos whenever you can. While you may not actually use these
exact photos, you can refer to them and work backwards to mimic
reality.
