George Krauter began working with Computer Graphics long ago on an Apple Macintosh IIfx and Adobe Illustrator. Soon after, he was using Adobe Photoshop v1.0. Hungry for more, he moved on to 3d software and used it as a means of creating the broad strokes for illustrations published in the print industry. Over the years he has created illustrations for the magazines Analog Science Fiction, Asimov’s SF, Science Fiction Age, Byte, Scientific American, Omni Comix, Astronomy, The San Francisco Bay Guardian, Fortune, American Metal Market, Stanford University and many others. As the 1990s ended, George began teaching various 2d and 3d software in San Francisco at both the Academy of Art University and the Center for Electronic Art.
In 2005 he moved to Los Angeles, where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of working in the Visual Effects industry on feature films and commercials. To date, George has worked for Gener8Xion Entertainment, Digital Domain, Radium/ReelFX, CIS Hollywood, [hy*drau”lx], CafeFX, Reliance Media Works, and others. Most recently, he completed work on several episodes of the Emmy-winning series “Black Sails” as 3d Generalist and Texture Painter.
